BRICS countries today are the most intensively developing countries of the world economy, since they have a rich resource base, scientific and labor potential. According to leading economists it is economic growth of Brazil, Russia, India, China and the Republic of South Africa that will ensure the future economic growth of the world economy. At the same time, the BRICS countries are the largest agricultural producers, accounting one third of the world agricultural production. About half of the world’s pork volume and about one third of poultry and beef are produced at their territory. At the same time, there are certain trends of specialization of each country in the world agricultural market. All of above enumerates stipulate relevance to study of current state and development prospects of agriculture in the BRICS countries. The methodological basis of the study, results of which are presented in the article, are statistical methods for analyzing the level of development of agriculture and cross-country comparisons. They make it possible to obtain a quantitative assessment of the place of each country in the world market of agricultural product.
The theme of the food embargo does not cease… But generally speaking there is no reason to panic, especially when real success of the Russian manufacturers is evident. Today agricultural holding “Akashevo” is among the five largest enterprises in Russia for production of poultry meat. How the poultry giant is developing, how it manages to win the battle for the consumer — all these was described in the article by commercial director of CJSC Poultry farm “Akashevskaya”, winner of the international award “Person of the Year 2014” Sergey Bilan.
The article brings up the question of important strategic orientation of agricultural sector, the need for realization of domestic agriculture role in reviving economy and providing the country’s security.
In modern conditions, when food becomes a leading factor of geopolitics and US agriculture is increasingly losing importance of world food “safety cushion”, when China and India are focused on providing their own population, Russia relying on its agro-industrial complex growth may become one of the founders and key players of a new “food world order” on favorable long-term conditions.
The theme of the next Discussion Club meeting of the RAS academician O.T. Bogomolov is more than burning, especially in the light of deterioration of relations with the West.
None of the world powers is interested in changing the consolidated image of Russia as the supplier of hydrocarbons, metals, chemical fertilizers, fish and seafood.
Bashkortostan has long followed the path of an extremely conservative development. Even in the late 1990s here publicly sounded the slogan: “Let us not allow to destroy collective farms!” And they did not allow it, but in the end it ended badly: both reorganization was not carried out, and the farms were not preserved either…
As a man of his time, Khrushchev in his heart was remaining a revolutionary romantic. Therefore, being surrounded by the Stalinists, he dealt a crushing blow to the image of Stalin as a dictator and a tyrant, but at the same time he wanted to preserve the state created by Stalin, not realizing that he undermines its sacred foundations.
